Military find crash-landed plane in field outside Morocoy

Morocoy, Q.R. — A burned plane has been discovered outside the town of Morocoy, west of the state’s capital city of Chetumal. The finding was made Tuesday by elements of the military and National Guard.

According to preliminary information, the plane is a twin-engine jet without a registration number. The plane crash-landed in a gap of land called La Piedra, which had recently been cleaned. Elements say the jet experienced landing problems due to structural issues.

Authorities speculate the unregistered aircraft came from Colombia, likely loaded with narcotics, adding that when they located the aircraft, it had already been unloaded and set on fire. Although no arrests were made, they continue to investigate.
