Mexico City returns to yellow epidemiological light after two weeks in the green

Mexico City, Mexico — After two weeks of being green, Mexico City has returned to a yellow epidemiological light, but the return to the yellow light does not require a closure of activities, says the Head of Government.

On Friday, the epidemiological light by the Ministry of Health reported Mexico City in yellow after remaining green for two weeks. Government head Claudia Sheinbaum explained that the epidemiological light is at 9 points, “one point above the 8 needed to be green.” Likewise, she maintained that the return to the yellow traffic light does not require a closure of activities.

From June 21 to July 4, 19 states will be in green, while eight will continue in yellow and five in orange. The country has avoided regressing back to a red epidemiological light in any of its states for several months.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Health, states that will be on a green light are Aguascalientes, Baja California, Chiapas, Coahuila, Durango, State of Mexico, Guanajuato, Guerrero, Hidalgo, Jalisco, Michoacán, Morelos, Nayarit, Oaxaca, Puebla, Querétaro, San Luis Potosí, Tlaxcala and Zacatecas.

Baja California Sur, Quintana Roo, Tabasco, Tamaulipas and Yucatán will be in orange, while Campeche, Chihuahua, Mexico City, Colima, Nuevo León, Sinaloa, Sonora and Veracruz will be in yellow.
