Five arrested in Cozumel after police find drugs, ammunition

Cozumel, Q.R. — A Cozumel car wash has become the latest building fatality after a police search finds a variety of drugs and ammunition leading to the arrest of five.

The seizure and arrests took place in colonia 10 de Abril after Policía Ministerial made their search. The search and seizure occurred just before 10:00 p.m. by police from the Fiscalía Especializada en Delitos contra la Salud.

Police report finding 50 bags of marijuana, 98 bags of cocaine, 38 bags of crack, a scale and 9-millimeter cartridges.

Inside, police arrested three men and two women identified as 32-year-old Edgar U.T. from Yucatán, Felipe V.C., 41 also from the state of Yucatán along with 36-year-old Javier C.C. of Cozumel, 42-year-old Sandra M.V. from the State of Mexico and Claudia P.G., also 42 and from the State of Mexico.

Last month, 23 people were arrested after a house raid in Cozumel. During that search and seizure, police reported finding marijuana, crack, cocaine and cash.
