Feds find suitcase of cocaine from Colombian flight

Mexico City, Mexico — Federal police elements at the Mexico City International Airport report the discovery and seizure of nearly 11 kilos of cocaine.

Police at the airport say that during a routine screening of incoming luggage, an x-rayed suitcase showed irregularities. When manually inspected, la Secretaría de Seguridad y Protección Ciudadana (SSPC) say police discovered just over 10.8 kilos of cocaine wrapped in black plastic. The packages were found among personal items inside the suitcase.

According to their report, the suitcase was discovered in Terminal 1 of el Aeropuerto Internacional de Ciudad de México (AICM) and was from a flight that had landed from Colombia.

The unclaimed suitcase was seized and made available to the Federal Public Ministry.
