Cancun, Q.R. — The State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) has closed Marina Chac Chi at Kilometer 3.5 of the Cancun Hotel Zone. The marina was shut by state officials after a complaint was filed by Grupo Caveri Servicios Inmobiliarios.
The group filed a complaint over the construction of a second pier in front of their facilities. It was around 9:00 p.m. Tuesday when state officials arrived at the marina to install closure seals while an investigation is made into the dispossession of land.
The complaint was made after an ongoing dispute between Villas Juveniles of the National Council of Resources for the Attention of Youth (CREA) that occupies the facilities and the group building the Chac Chic marina.
Last month, a Cancun court revoked the concession to Marina Chac Chi, because its owner, Gaspar Paredes Cardeña had requested its expansion using false documentation.
