Cancun, Q.R. — A Cancun Hotel Zone lifeguard alerted authorities to the discovery of a crocodile head. The head was found by the lifeguard after he began searching for a bad smell.
The General Directorate of Ecology and the Federal Attorney for Environmental Protection (Profepa) were part of the arriving team to look into the reptile head. The head was eventually removed for further investigation.
Authorities did not provide the location of the beach where the head was found. They also did not provide information on if the head was left behind from a kill or may have washed up on shore from another location.
