Cancun, Q.R. — A young teen lost her life Sunday after crashing into a semi trailer while traveling on the back of a motorcycle. The accident happened during the busy afternoon while her father was driving.
During their travels along José López Portillo Avenue, the motorcycle carrying the pair crashed into the end of a semi trailer whose driver suddenly made a u-turn.
The 14-year-old girl died of her injuries and was pronounced on scene. Her 43-year-old father was taken to the General Hospital of Cancun. He remains in serious condition. The accident happened near the entrance to the Tres Reyes neighborhood.
The driver of the semi, 28-year-old Brando Alberto N, was arrested. The accident caused the closure of one of the avenue’s lanes while police and medical experts processed the scene and removed the body.
