José María Morelos, Q.R. — Witnesses to a hit and attempted run kept the driver at the scene for police. On Thursday night, residents watched the driver of an old-model car collide with a motorcycle then try to leave the scene.
Angry residents were quick to prevent the vehicle from leaving, claiming the driver of the car was impaired. The accident happened at an intersection of Morelos Avenue and Gonzalo Guerrero Street in the center of town.
The young man driving the motorcycle was treated by paramedics for injuries to his legs. Medical personnel did not transfer him to hospital since his injuries were not life-threatening.
Police did arrive and arrest the driver of the car. It is not known if he was driving impaired.
