Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A wild boar has been rescued from the busy streets of Playa del Carmen when it was reported wandering after being hit by a vehicle.
Eyewitnesses called the Playa del Carmen fire department to rescue the small animal after it appeared injured. The boar was found on a vehicle overpass at the height of the CTM Avenue.
Both municipal officials and firemen were able to easily capture it since it suffered injuries to its body and legs.
The boar was taken to the fire station and eventually handed over to a veterinarian who evaluated and found that it had several bone fractures and broken tusks from being hit by a vehicle.
The boar was moved to the Xcaret park for treatment and recovery.
