Cancun, Q.R. — An alleged attack against a Cancun patrol unit created chaos as other police arrived, resulting in the arrest of two.
Reports of gun fire against a state patrol unit in Cancun along José López Portillo Avenue Friday morning created chaos when dozens of officers arrived on scene. The shots were recorded at 11:20 a.m. against a police vehicle near the city’s exit toward Merida.
The shots resulted in 15 police units arriving on José López Portillo Avenue to locate the shooter(s). Preliminary reports say that two men in a white van allegedly shot at the state police truck, which is when reinforcements were requested.
After an intense search that involved a police helicopter, police officers reported the arrest of two suspects, neither of which were identified.
There were no reported injuries.
