Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — An Ultramar van transferring tourists to the Playa del Carmen ferry dock crashed into the back of a private car, leaving two people injured.
Passengers of the Ultramar van said that the driver was texting on his cell phone and did not see the vehicle stopped ahead.
The accident occurred on Playa del Carmen Boulevard where a line of vehicles were waiting for traffic lights. The driver of the Ultramar van, however, was looking at his phone and allegedly did not see the line of stopped vehicles.
The van slammed into the back of a car, even though passengers said they were shouting at him to stop. The two injured people were taken by a private ambulance to a clinic.
