Tulum undergoing transformation to improve image reports mayor

Tulum, Q.R. — Tulum mayor Diego Castañón Trejo says the municipality is undergoing a transformation plan that will improve its image. During a recent meeting with businessmen from the Employers’ Confederation of the Mexican Republic (COPARMEX), he said that his government is working on the transformation in terms of security, sustainability, mobility, image and urban development and tourism promotion.

During the meeting, the business owners showed their support for the transformation plan.

Castañón Trejo stressed that public safety has become one of the highest priorities with the endorsement of the Government of Mexico and State Governor, Mara Lezama Espinosa.

The mayor guaranteed that this new chapter in the relationship between the Municipal Government of Tulum and the businessmen of the Maya Caribbean will allow solutions to the challenges they face as a tourist power in Quintana Roo.

“I have said it before and I will say it again. My government is not a government of double standards. Things here in Tulum have to change,” he said.

Marc Pujol, President of the Riviera Maya Coparmex Business Center, thanked Mayor Diego Castañón for his openness and interest in agreeing to talks and joining efforts so that Tulum does well in tourism and allows growth with security, sustainability and shared responsibility.

“Very happy with the openness that Diego has shown since his entry. I think that the rapprochement with the business community was important. We are the engine of the economy of our territory and I think that this opening will give good results in the present and the future of Tulum,” he said.
