Trio with over 600 packages of hard drugs arrested in Playa del Carmen

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Solidaridad Police arrested three people who were found with more than 600 packages of hard drugs. The trio were taken into custody from the Villas del Sol residential area of Playa del Carmen Saturday.

They were also jailed for possession of a loaded firearm.

According to a report by Seguridad Pública Solidaridad, the three adults were arrested Saturday night from Garza Morena Street when they saw two men and one woman exchanging drug-like packages and cash with the driver of a mototaxi.

When they saw police, everyone fled which lead police into a chase. During their pursuit, they saw one of the men carrying a gun on his waist. Once intercepted, police proceeded to arrest 35-year-old Marco “N” from Mexico City who was found in possession of a firearm, a magazine stocked with 7 cartridges and a variety of narcotics that included marijuana and cocaine products.

They also arrested 44-year-old Carlos “N” from Chiapas who was found in possession of marijuana and cocaine products, as well as 43-year-old Yesi “N” from Honduras, who was found with drugs and cash in both pesos and foreign currency.

In total, over 600 packages of drugs were seized along with one loaded gun and a vehicle.
