Cancun, Q.R. — A home in Cancun was completely destroyed by an afternoon fire Sunday. Firefighters were made aware of the two-story fire in SM 248 through a C5 report.
According to firemen, the blaze started on the first floor and quickly made its way up to the bedrooms.

One of the upstairs rooms was destroyed by flames while the second was left damaged by heat and soot. Firemen who attended the afternoon blaze did not provide a cause for the fire.
In a statement, they said “the Cancun Fire Department received a report via C5 of a fire in a home located at Superblock 248. Upon arrival, they confirmed a fire in progress inside a two-story masonry home. The fire started on the first floor, where several items were completely consumed.
“The second bedroom was affected by heat and soot from the fire. Cancun Fire Department personnel implemented a defensive attack, successfully containing and extinguishing the fire, preventing it from spreading to other areas.
“No injuries were reported. Cancun Fire Department, always at the service and protection of the community. Serve and Protect!”
