Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A man reported to be a national tourist was found hanged inside his hotel room. Police were notified by hotel staff after the man’s wife found him Thursday morning.
Police were sent to the hotel on 28th Street and 1st Avenue in Xaman Ha in response to the report. They verified the body of an adult male was found hanging in the hotel bathroom.
Paramedics confirmed his death.
The area was cordoned off for State Attorney General personnel to start an investigation. The deceased has not been identified beyond being a Mexican national who was a visitor to the area with his wife at the time of the incident.
