Cancun, Q.R. — Three men who fled a public Cancun bus without paying caused a stir with both bus passengers and social media users who falsely claimed the bus had been robbed.
On Wednesday afternoon, three men tried to get off a public SEA bus in the Cancun Hotel Zone without paying. The driver was pushed about in his seat by one of the men after the driver refused to open the door.
The three men continued to argue with the bus driver as he remained stopped along Cobá Avenue, refusing to pay after a disagreement with the Route 2 driver.
Eventually, the three men left the bus. A passenger video of the incident recorded the three men having the several-minute argument with the bus driver. Police did not intervene. There were no injuries reported. It was not a public bus robbery as being claimed on social media.
