Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Three people were arrested by municipal police in Playa del Carmen after they were discovered transporting a dead body.
The discovery came at 2:37 a.m. when patrolling police happened upon a parked taxi. The taxi, which was identified as belonging to the Sindicado Lázaro Cárdenas del Río taxi union, was spotted parked on Avenida Lilis with CTM in the region of Misión de las Flores.
When police began their approach, the driver of the unit started the car and sped away, leading to a chase. Municipal police caught up with the car. Upon inspection, they found three people transporting a deceased body.
The three occupants were arrested, the taxi seized and the deceased body turned over the to Forensic Medical Services.
