Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A police chase involving a taxi and his passengers resulted in the arrest of three who allegedly kidnapped a man and then stabbed him to death.
The events occurred on Golondrina Marina Street in Villas del Sol when a man was reportedly forced into a taxi. The taxi, belonging to Lázaro Cárdenas del Río, sped off with passengers and the man, who was stabbed several times before being thrown from the unit on Avenue 130.
The man was expelled from the taxi after police were notified of the kidnapping. They were quick to track down the taxi which resulted in a chase that ended in Galaxias II of Playa del Carmen.
Police were able to arrest three of the five alleged involved in the kidnapping and murder. One of the three arrested was the taxi driver.
The man, identified as Miguel Ángel, was taken to hospital where he died a few hours after being admitted.
