SUV ends up in tree after Cozumel driver avoids highway animal

Cozumel, Q.R. — Cozumel firemen were called to help with the removal of a vehicle after it left the road and became wedged in a tree. The driver of the SUV was attempting to avoid an animal on the highway when the accident happened.

The driver was traveling toward Punta Sur when he swerved to avoid the uuidentified animal. In doing so, his SUV ended up stuck in a tree. The impact from the hit caused the front driver’s tire to be completely ripped away.

While the driver was reported as not injured, the tree suffered a near up-rooting. Firemen were called in to remove the vehicle’s battery to avoid a possible short circuit. The vehicle was eventually pulled out of the tree and towed.
