Speed and sharp curve factored into how Cancun car ended up balancing on construction site rods

Cancun, Q.R. — A driver and passenger of a small car that drove into a Cancun construction site were taken to hospital. The unusual accident happened early Tuesday morning at the Nichupté bridge construction site in Cancun.

It is still not known exactly how the driver of the small Pointer managed to drive into the hole, however, speed around a sharp corner are being factored into the accident. When police arrived, they found the car balanced nose down on two sets of metal rods.

Police located the car at the site near an intersection of Bonampak Avenue. The man and woman from inside the vehicle were taken to hospital with minor injuries. A tow truck was called in to remove the car from the construction site.

There was no word on city property damage or possible charges.
