Jáltipan, Veracruz — Six people were killed and 10 transferred to hospital injured after the driver of a tourist van hit an animal. The accident happened Sunday around 7:00 a.m. along a section of the Cosoleacaque-Acayucan highway near the municipality of Jáltipan in Veracruz when the van hit a cow.
The wandering animal was crossing the highway in the southern region of Veracruz when it was struck by the tourist company van. According to the first reports, the passengers were traveling from Macuspana Tabasco to the Port of Veracruz at the time of the incident.
The van ended up overturned and ditched. Approximately 20 people were in the van when it rolled. Attending medical personnel arrived to find six people dead on scene, five adults and one minor. The injured range in ages from 54 to four.
