Cancun, Q.R. — A group of Cancun police officers responded to the report of land invaders beside their own facilities. On Monday evening, the group of officers visited the site and were successful in preventing a group of nearly 80 from invading owned land.
Police attended to the report of the invaders around 6:00 p.m., arriving to find a large section of cleared land and the beginning construction of makeshift stick homes. The officers attending to the report were threatened by the group after they were told the land was owned and they could not build.
Additional police arrived at the site and were successful in dissuading the group. The group of nearly 80 had claimed land in Region 247. The invaders were removed.
