Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A man and woman were jailed in Playa del Carmen Monday after police located drugs and a weapon. The pair were handcuffed and transferred to police facilities after ignoring a request to stop.
Police patrolling the InHouse area of the city saw the Jetta they were in being driven recklessly and blowing through stop signs. When they were asked to pull over, the driver accelerated in an attempt to get away.
Police caught up to them within several blocks where they were intercepted. A rifle was seen in the backseat of the car, which lead to a full search.
During that search, police located two bags of marijuana, 18 bags of crystal meth and 23 bags of cocaine. Arrested early Monday morning was 25-year-old Jesús N” and 39-year-old Claudia N.
