Nine arrested after attacking Playa del Carmen police

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Nine people were arrested after they physically attacked Playa del Carmen police stopped during a routine surveillance tour.

The nine, including two minors, were arrested after they attacked elements of the Municipal Police in the Luis Donaldo Colosio colony. The attack occurred while police stopped outside a convenience store during routine neighborhood patrols. While there, the group of nine physically attacked them.

The officers managed to repeal their aggressors while they waited for support. None of the officers involved in the altercation were reported to have received serious injuries.

The detainees have been identified as Juan José, 17 years old, Esteban, 31, Gabriel, 34, Víctor Ignacio, 23, José Luis, 43, Carlos García, 45 years old, José Agustín, 18, Bryan Joel, 15 years old and Mauricio, 25 years old.
