Tulum, Q.R. — A motorcycle driver was left in serious condition Friday from an intersection hit and run. Municipal Transit and medical personnel were called to the intersection of Golondrinas Street and La Selva Avenue Friday afternoon.

Witnesses told police that the driver of a car ran a stop sign and struck the motorcyclist, who was thrown from his bike and left lying on the pavement.
A motorcyclist who witnessed the accident tried to follow the driver on the Tulum-Cobá highway, but they managed to escape.
Transit officers and Civil Protection personnel cordoned off the area and are reviewing surveillance cameras to identify the vehicle involved.
The driver of the motorcycle was rushed to hospital in serious condition.
