Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Neighbors in a residential area of Playa del Carmen took the law into their own hands after catching a young boy stealing.
Neighbors in the residential areas of Misiones de las Flores and Las Palmas I say they caught a young 15-year-old boy stealing a cell phone. They report hearing the cries of a woman who was messaging while walking along a street when the young man took advantage of her head being down, and snatched the phone from her hands.
The young man then attempted to flee, but not before being caught by area residents who allegedly hit him several times before tying him to a public pole while police were called.
Municipal police did arrive and transferred the teen to el Sistema Nacional para el Desarrollo Integral de la Familia (DIF) due to his age.
