Mexican Navy rescues nine crew from American boat

Isla Contoy, Q.R. — The Secretary of the Navy reports the rescue of nine from an American boat that was drifting after running out of fuel.

La Secretaría de Marina says that the Command and Control Center of the Mexican Navy were informed Sunday that the vessel Patos, from Florida, had run out of fuel during a trip to Isla Mujeres, leaving the nine crew adrift.

Members of the Mexican Navy left Isla Mujeres and found the vessel 12 nautical miles (22.2 kilometers) from Isla Contoy in the northern area of Isla Mujeres. The boat was towed to the island and all nine crew given a health review.
