Joint operation leads to seizure of 5,800 kilos of methamphetamine

Culiacán, Sinaloa — The Secretary of National Defense (Sedena) has reported their most relevant drug seizure during the current administration. On January 27, in a joint operation with the National Guard and the Attorney General of the Republic (FGR), agents seized more than 5,800 kilograms of methamphetamine.

Through a statement, the Secretaría de la Defensa Nacional (Sedena) reported that the seizure was carried out on January 27 as a result of intelligence work after elements of the Mexican Army searched a property.

The property was located in the town of Carboneras, in the municipality of Culiacán and was believed to be a storage house for drugs. Inside, agents located 3,907 kilograms of methamphetamine and another 2,408 kilograms of liquid methamphetamine, which when crystallized, would have a weight of 1,926 kilograms.

The institution indicated that this seizure of methamphetamine is the most relevant of the current administration.
