Cancun, Q.R. — An immigration review between Cancun and Playa del Carmen has resulted in the detainment of eight illegal people.
In a joint police operation, officials arrested eight people Wednesday for failing to be able to prove their legal stay in the country. The operation was headed by immigration personnel who inspected public transport vehicles running between Cancun and Playa del Carmen.
The entire operation consisted of 20 officers and three units. Immigration officers arrested a total of four people from Argentina between the ages of 29 and 33 along with a 42-year-old woman from Afghanistan, a 31-year-old Brazilian and two Venezuelans aged 44 and 61 respectively.
