Four recused after drifting 33 nautical miles off Isla Mujeres

Isla Mujeres, Q.R. — Four people have been rescued by the Navy after their vessel experienced engine failure off Isla Mujeres.

The boat, which was carrying four, experienced the failure after leaving Puerto Juarez. A call for help was made when the boat, Elizabeth, began drifting. The naval command center relayed the distress call to the navy who headed out in search of Elizabeth and her crew.

The men were found drifting approximately 33 nautical miles (61 kilometers) north of Isla Mujeres with four Mexican nationals on board.

Everyone was reported to port in good health.
