Former Playa del Carmen mayor arrested for irregular performance

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Former Solidaridad municipal president Rafael Castro Castro, was arrested in Yucatan Wednesday for irregular performance of the public function.

The Yucatan arrest was made due to an outstanding arrest warrant issued by the state of Quintana Roo. La Fiscalía Especializada en Combate a la Corrupción confirmed the arrest of Rafael Castro Castro.

The warrant was issued by the Judicial District of Playa del Carmen for the crime of embezzlement to the detriment of the City Council. No figures have been released.
