Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Q.R. — Firemen were tasked with the removal of a lingering boa from a neighborhood tree in Felipe Carrillo Puerto. Two firemen and one man from Civil Protection responded to the Monday request for assistance in removing and relocating the slithering reptile.
The snake was found among branches three meters up a nance tree. Civil Protection personnel coaxed the snake from the tree onto the ground below where waiting men bagged it.
The initial call made Monday was for help in removing the boa from inside a home. Residents of a house on 79th Street in the Jesús Martínez Ross neighborhood found the snake inside their property and called the fire department.
However, by the time help arrived, the boa had moved off into a neighboring tree. The two-meter long boa was captured and later released outside the town by Civil Protection personnel.
