Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Q.R. — A Felipe Carrillo Puerto taxi driver was taken to hospital Thursday night after overturning his car. National Guard were first on scene in response to motorist reports of the single vehicle accident.
The male driver of the municipal taxi overturned his cab after slamming into a metal guardrail. Paramedics found the taxi driver inside his overturned vehicle. He was treated at the scene before being transferred to hospital.
The single vehicle rollover happened shortly before 10:00 p.m. Red Cross paramedics stabilized the driver on the highway before taking him to the Felipe Carrillo Puerto General Hospital.
According to early information, the taxi driver was traveling east at excessive speed when he lost control near an exit and overturned his car. He was the only person in the taxi at the time of the accident.
