Tulum, Q.R. — Two men are facing attempted murder and sexual abuse charges after a woman they shot survived. The State Attorney General (FGE) says Jafet Nicolás “N” and Ausencio “N” are accused of shooting the 15 year old and leaving her for dead on a dirt road.

The incident happened on September 27 when, according to the victim, she was with her attackers in Tulum’s Aldea Zamá after meeting them at the Chivero cenote where they had been drinking.
She was drugged and raped in Aldea Zamá before being transferred by taxi to a dirt road where she was shot. The teen, Maria “G” from Chiapas, was found the following day and rushed to hospital. She survived her attack.
On Monday, the FGE said that Jafet Nicolás “N”, alias “87” and/or “Draco” and Ausencio “N” were arested on October 2 by Investigative Police. During their arrests, officers seized two handguns and bags of narcotics.
In a statement, police said Jafet Nicolás “N” was the person who pulled the trigger while Ausencio “N” watched and added that Jafet Nicolás “N” is also being investigated for the September 14, 2025 murder of a man.
In a statement, the FGE reported that both men “allegedly sexually abused the victim then shot her with a firearm and abandoned her on a dirt road. She was found alive the following day.
“The suspects were arrested on October 2 by Investigative Police who seized two handguns and bags containing narcotics. Initial investigations indicate that Jafet Nicolás “N” is the person who allegedly shot the victim in the presence of Ausencio “N”; both are possibly linked to a criminal group responsible for violence in Tulum.
“Jafet Nicolás “N” is being investigated for his alleged involvement in the homicide with a firearm of a man on September 14 of this year, for alleged drug dealing.”

A judge has ordered both men to remain in preventive detention for a term of two years or the duration of the trial.
