Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Q.R. — The start of construction on a new public market in Felipe Carrillo Puerto has been announced. The market was announced Wednesday by Governor Mara Lezama and Mayor Mary Hernández.

“The project responds to a long-standing demand from tenants who have been awaiting the modernization of the space for years. Very soon, it will become a reality and will allow local families to offer and purchase products that are hygienic, comfortable and safe,” the Governor stated.
Mayor Mary Hernández explained that the new market will become a meeting point for the municipality’s daily lif, where people can sell fruit, vegetables and farm products, as well as enjoy home-cooked meals in a safe environment.
The finished market will consist of a 3,500 square meter building at a cost of 26 million pesos. It is anticipated to be operational in early 2026.
