FGE reports one killed six injured in Cancun drive-by bar shooting

Cancun, Q.R. — Authorities report one person killed and six injured during a drive-by bar shooting in Cancun Friday night. Two vehicles that appeared along Kabah Avenue around 9:00 p.m. opened fire as they drove past the Deja Vu nightclub.

A total of seven people were hit by the moving spray of bullets. Six of the injured were taken to hospital while one person was pronounced on scene. Police implemented a search for the vehicles which resulted in the arrest of one.

In a briefing, the Quintana Roo Attorney General’s Office acknowledged the shooting and confirmed the number of injured and dead. “One person was arrested for his probable involvement in the events that occurred on Ave Kabah where six people were injured and one more lost his life from gunshots.”

According to preliminary information, the deceased was an employee of the club.
