Federal officials continue to investigate alleged Cancun mafia home

Cancun, Q.R. — A second search of the home of now-detained Florian Tudor was made by federal officials Saturday. Police were on scene at the alleged Romanian mafia house in SM 3 of Cancun early Saturday morning where they continue to investigate.

While they started at Tudor’s home, police moved around the neighboring streets while armed guards in military units were placed along the open roadways. Additional information regarding their search has not been released.

Florian Tudor was taken into custody earlier in the week on an outstanding arrest warrant in Romania. He is set for deportation back to his home country on criminal charges that include organized crime, extortion and attempted murder. Locally, Tudor has been accused of running a large-scale ATM bank card cloning operation throughout the state, mostly in the Cancun, Riviera Maya tourist areas.
