Cancun, Q.R. — Excessive speed has been factored into a single vehicle accident that happened in Cancun Wednesday morning. The van overturned on Luis Donaldo Colosio Boulevard while heading toward the city center around 2:00 a.m.
Transit Officers were sent to the scene of the accident where they found the van laying on its side in the center of the boulevard. The driver inside was transferred to Cancun hospital by ambulance for injuries sustained during the crash.
The driver hit at least one city streetlight pole before coming to rest in the central median. The pole’s concrete base was knocked free, downing the pole. The severity of the damage to the van deemed it a write-off.
