Crocodile with knife wound rescued at Puerto Morelos

Puerto Morelos, Q.R. — A crocodile was rescued and treated from a beach in Puerto Morelos where he was found with a head injury, authorities said.

According to authorities, support was requested by the Federal Attorney for Environmental Protection from hotel security to capture and transfer a wounded crocodile that they saw with a knife in its head.

According to the report, when they arrived at the beach, they began the process of transferring the reptile to facilities at the Croco Cun Zoo located near Puerto Morelos, who specialize in handling reptiles.

In the report, authorities said they would monitor its condition so it could be returned to the mangrove.
