Riviera Maya, Q.R. — Transit officers from Solidaridad were tasked with the removal of an overturned cement mixer outside Paamul Saturday. The large unit, which was loaded with cement at the time of the accident, was found laying on its passenger side blocking two of the four lanes.
According to the unidentified driver, he swerved in an attempt to avoid hitting a car and in doing so, overturned his mixer. The swerve caused the loaded truck to fall over, cutting off the two inside lanes to traffic.
The accident happened around 6:00 p.m. Solidaridad Traffic Officers were charged with dealing with backed-up highway weekend traffic while waiting for a specialized tow truck to arrive to upright and removed the unit from the 307 highway.
