Cancun, Q.R. — Armed men who chased a woman driving an SUV in Cancun Thursday opened fire, killing her.
The shooting was reported around 9:00 a.m. Thursday morning on Río Niágara Avenue in the Santa Fe subdivision of the city. Witnesses in SM 525 reported seeing the white SUV being chased before it came to a stop after numerous shots were heard.
After the report of the shooting, police began a search operation for possible suspects after eye witnesses pointed to a black vehicle that was reportedly abandoned near the scene. Arrests have not been announced.
The deceased woman, who is reported to have been in her 30s, has not been identified.
