Cancun road closed after fuel tanker spill

Cancun, Q.R. — A roadway fuel spill left a section of José López Portillo Avenue closed in Cancun. On Saturday, a collision between a double-long semi fuel tanker and small utility vehicle caused a diesel leak.

Firefighters and Civil Protection were called to the Cancun scene when leaking fuel from the tanker was noticed. The noon accident had traffic backed up along the busy city artery while personnel dealt with the scene.

Elements of the Fire Department were in charge of cleaning the spilled fuel. The two vehicles reportedly collided when the double-long tanker was attempting to pull over. There were no injures to either of the drivers.
