Cancun, Q.R. — State authorities have updated the number of bodies found in Alfredo V. Bonfil over the weekend to eight.
On Monday, State Prosecutor Óscar Montes de Oca reported that there were a total of eight bodies found Saturday. Initially, the bodies of five adults were found inside a filled water reservoir on an abandoned property in a Cancun suburb.
The bodies were found Saturday by a worker in an area of an old lot where construction is being done. Montes de Oca says three of the five deceased from inside the cistern have already been identified.
While police were searching the area, they discovered bones that correspond to three more people. The bones were located Saturday morning in different areas of Alfredo V. Bonfil, the same suburb where the five bodies were located inside the cistern.
