Authorities seize narcotics, weapons and animals after search of three Cozumel homes

Cozumel, Q.R. — Three searches of Cozumel properties lead police to the seizure of drugs, weapons and illegal animals. In a statement, the Quintana Roo State Attorney General’s Office reported the search of the three properties with warrants located in the neighborhoods CTM, Flamingos and Las Fincas.

All three, they report, are related to the same investigation.

The homes were searched after a combination of citizen complaints and investigations lead them to the addresses. The federal agency reported homes in the CTM and Flamingos revealed narcotics while the property in Las Fincas lead police to the discovery of tactical vests, documents, a firearm, narcotics and illegal animals including a jaguar and a lioness.

The three addresses, located in the municipality of Cozumel, were insured and the corresponding seals placed, the agency reported.
