Isla Mujeres, Q. R. — Authorities in Isla Mujeres responded to the report of an abandoned vessel near Isla Blanca on the mainland. On Saturday morning, area residents located the empty boat near the beach area of Isla Blanca around 8:00 a.m.
Police found the boat, however, all traces of those inside were gone. Residents reported seeing the boat arrive at dawn, but did not detail how many people were inside.
The homemade vessel is believed to have carried another load of Cuban nationals to the area. Only water jugs were found left behind inside the boat. Authorities have not made any public statement regarding this latest abandoned vessel.
