Puerto Morelos, Q.R. — For the second day in a row, authorities in Puerto Moreloes have detained a youth in possession of drugs. On Wednesday, “elements of the Municipal Police arrested a subject who was consuming drugs in the middle of the street.”
The report of the arrest says the 18-year-old male was taken into custody from the Villas Morelos I subdivision of Puerto Morelos after police also “found him in possession of illegal substances.”
The detainee was identified as 18-year-old MAGR originally from Tabasco. Police say during a surveillance tour, the man was seen “consuming a cigarette, which turned out to be made of dried herb that gave off the characteristic smell of marijuana.”
Upon inspection, it was found that he also carried 10 clear plastic bags of marijuana, 22 clear blue plastic bags of powered cocaine and 27 more bags with solid crack cocaine.
“The man, who said he was a bricklayer by trade, was arrested and turned over to the competent authority,” the report added.
