Cancún, Q.R. — For the second time in a week, elements of the Federal Police at the Cancun International Airport have arrested a male for presenting fake identification when attempting to travel.
A man was taken into custody by federal police after he produced a false INE card (el Instituto Nacional Electoralas) as proof of his identification. The man, who was attempting to travel to the city of Chihuahua, failed to produce identification that matched his boarding pass.
When questioned, the man then produced a second INE card with a different name, verifying that he intended to travel to Chihuahua.
He was arrested by police and presented to the Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office of Cancún for making use of a false document.
Earlier in the week, a young man showed false identification to federal police when attempting to travel to Monterrey. He too, was taken into custody for using fake identification.
