Costa Maya, Q.R. — Police in the Costa Maya town of Pucte seized an abandoned bag of drugs, ballistic gear and weapons. Late Thursday night, patrolling officers noticed what appeared to be the butt of a gun protruding from a large black bag.
Inside the bag, police found two ballistic vests, a 7.62 caliber black goat horn type long weapon, a magazine and ammo, 17 bags of marijuana and 100 street doses of crystal meth.
Police who made the discovery noted that the bag had been abandoned since there was no one around the area. While arrests were not made, the bag and items inside were seized and made part of an open investigation into the growing criminal activity in the south of the state.
