Tulum, Q.R. — A woman was taken to hospital Monday after driving her ATV into an excavated pit. Medical personnel responded to the Monday call for assistance after witnesses reported seeing an ATV drive into the three-meter-deep hole.
The excavation site was dug outside a hotel for the purpose of repairing a sewage line. The entire area was marked with orange fence and red tape, however, one person still managed to end up at the bottom.
Paramedics used a ladder to access the pit and remove the woman on a stretcher. There was no word on her injuries. Municipal Police and Civil Protection personnel from the Tulum City Council also arrived to investigate.
