Two caught extorting Cancun business in flagrante delicto

Cancun, Q.R. — Two people were captured in flagrante delicto for drug and extortion crimes in Cancun. The FGE of Quintana Roo arrested José “S” and Carlos “B” for threatening employees into selling drugs while also demanding floor right payments.

According to the FGE report, the two men were caught in the act of threatening staff of an establishment into selling narcotics and also demanding the payment of floor rights.

The pair were arrested from SM 22 over the weekend after police were notified of the threats. Patrolling officers responding to the report caught the pair in action. A physical inspection revealed bags of marijuana and crack cocaine.

They are being held after being caught threatening a business on Avenida Tulum into selling narcotics and also demanding a monthly fee as a “floor fee”.

“Police carried out an operation in the area where they managed to arrest the defendants in flagrante delicto who were placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry,” the FGE reported in a statement.
